Aam Aadmi Party was a result of some differences in the thinking of Arvind Kejrival and Anna Hazare (team members of Anti-Corruption Movement). Anna Hazare wanted the movement for the Lokpal Legislative Bill to be neutral politically.

Arvind Kejrival however has the thinking of changing the political structure of India by getting into it. So, he announced to form a party (Aam Aadmi Party) on 2nd October, 2012. The formal launch of party was scheduled on 26 November, 2012.

Arvind Kejrival has the support of some members of Anti-Corruption Movement and also holds criticism. Kumar Vishvas, Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan support Arvind. However, he did not receive the co-operation from other members- Kiran Bedi and Santosh Hegde.
